ICDM: Giving Tuesday

Dear friends of ICDM,

We have just celebrated the American holiday of Thanksgiving established by a group of believers called Pilgrims who traveled to a new land in search of religious freedom. Their early years were tough—they knew great hunger. And yet, they also knew that God had seen them through their trials, and they found it necessary to thank him for his grace.

This Thanksgiving, I am also thankful for God’s grace:
  • I am thankful for the missionary who shared the Good News about Jesus with my grandparents. This sharing enabled my family to move from darkness to light.
  • I am thankful for the calling I received to share my blessings with my friends and family in Bayonnais, Haiti.
  • I am thankful God planted the dream for ICDM in my heart and guided and provided for its establishment over 35 years ago.
  • I am thankful God has allowed us to touch thousands of lives through our school and feeding program in Bayonnais.
  • I am thankful God has used ICDM to release quality revival throughout Haiti and the Dominican Republic by training thousands of Christian leaders who are impacting their communities.
I am thankful God has given me a wonderful family and faithful partners in ministry like you who have joined me in changing lives.

What are you thankful for in this season?

One of the best expressions of gratitude a person can make is by sharing what they have with others. That is what Giving Tuesday (December 2) is all about. We invite you to share your thanks by helping ICDM continue to help others know Jesus and know hope. Specifically, I ask you to consider:
  • Helping to feed our children in Bayonnais, Haiti. For 75 cents per meal we are able to provide a hot nutritious lunch for our students. Why not feed 10 ($7.50) students or even 100 ($75.00)?
  • Changing a family’s life by providing them with a pig ($150), goat ($100), chicken ($12), and/or even a cow ($550). Your gift helps give a family a hand up rather than a handout.
  • Reshaping a child’s future by providing them with an education. For only $40 a month, you can provide a child with the school supplies and tuition they need to succeed. Even during Haiti’s recent troubles our school has remained open and continues to produce leaders for the future.
You may make your gift here.

Giving is a part of thanksgiving. On this Giving Tuesday, I invite you to join me in giving so that others may grow beyond their circumstances into the lives God intends for them. I close with a reminder from St. Paul:
Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness. You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous on every occasion, and through us your generosity will result in thanksgiving to God  (2 Corinthians 9:10–11, NIV)

With gratitude,
Yvan Pierre
