Dear friends of ICDM,

Praise God from whom all blessings flow! Myriam, Djenny, and I have just returned from the Dominican Republic where we engaged in several weeks of full, rich ministry with our partners there.

First up was our Annual ICDM Leadership Retreat. Over 120 Christian leaders from across the Dominican Republic and Haiti gathered in Santiago for several days of refreshment and renewal. Our faculty this year included two pastors from The Hope Church in Orlando, the Senior Pastor from Lift Church in Venice, Florida, a layperson from St. John’s Church in Sarasota, Advisory Board member, Doug Terrill, Pastor Jim, and myself.

During the retreat we heard from several local pastors. One was Pastor Majuste who, in a few short years, not only grew his own church but planted eight new ones. The pastors of those churches in turn are each planting new churches out of their churches, so the Kingdom of God is growing exponentially. Because of your continued support of ICDM we are seeing the Gospel spread rapidly throughout the Dominican Republic. Thank you.

Despite the aggravation of the lamenting Haitian political nightmare and its devasting impact on peoples’ lives, ICDM ministries are ongoing. The children are in school. Medical clinic remains open. The Schools of Evangelism, both, in Port-de-Paix, northwest and Belladere, Central Plateau, are thriving. 415 students are attending the Portable Bible schools this semester. We distributed 1,500 bibles these past two months. We clothed over 1,000 individuals the last six months. Women’s group received 6 sewing machines. An irrigation well is being dug so we can produce vegetable year-round to improve the bayonnaisian population diet. Vitamins, medications and new culinary appliances are shipped.
School is still in full swing in Bayonnais.

This year’s Christmas offering for the work of ICDM was incredibly generous. I want to thank each of you for your gift at Christmas and throughout the year. Because of your faithfulness in giving many families will receive animals through our GOATS program and children will continue to be fed.
Families are given a fresh start through the gift of goats.
Full stomachs help the learning curve!
For nearly 35 years, your partnership in the gospel with ICDM is the reminder of the word of Jesus that “Neither person do light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead, they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. (Matthew 5:15,16 NIV).

Thank you so very much for helping ICDM keeps the lamp at its rightful place!  The light of the gospel stills transcends all darkness combined.
A big thumbs up for all your support!
Sincerely,

Yvan Pierre
