ICDM: A Big Thank You...

Dear friends of ICDM,
During the past year, the people of Haiti have faced a number of challenges. Gangs have continued to undermine our political stability, gas and diesel shortages have made travel extremely difficult, the government suspended the opening of schools for several months, and we suffered major hurricane damage from Fiona.
Through these many challenges ICDM has remained strong, offering hope to the people of Haiti. We continued to offer Christian training to people right where they live through our Schools of Evangelism and Portable Bible Schools. We continued to help families find greater economic security through our micro-loan program. We managed to feed our children in times of great economic pressure. We helped people recover from hurricane damage. We opened school with a strong start. And we continued to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Our feeding program offers immediate relief. Long term we help families provide their own food security through micro-loan and our GOAT projects. Micro-loans help families establish their own businesses. The GOAT program provides long-term food security by providing families with goats, pigs, chickens, or cows. The great thing about this program is that it is “pay it forward.” When a family receives an animal, they pass on one of its offspring to another family.
All of this was made possible by the grace of God and his miraculous provision and much of that provision passed through your hands because of your generosity. As I look back over the past 30+ years of ICDM’s growth I see that very little would have been possible without the involvement of ministry partners like you. You truly have been part of the ICDM team which has made such a difference to the people of Haiti and the Dominican Republic.
This was driven home in a poignant way earlier this month when we lost the earthly presence of Bruce Foster who served as an ICDM partner for over 20 years. As I reflected on his contributions of time, talent, and resources, I was reminded of how many “Bruces” belong to our family: people who are willing to serve with their whole hearts. I am deeply humbled and profoundly grateful for your faithfulness. Thank you for helping us serve the people of Haiti and the Dominican Republic so well.

As we look to 2023, we want to build on the successes of the past. We want to expand our micro-loan program to empower even more families. We want to expand our Schools of Evangelism and Portable Bible Schools to equip even more Christian leaders. We are beginning to explore the building of a high school to help educate our students, and we are considering the possibility of building a small acute hospital to complement the successful work of our medical clinic.
As in the past, you will continue to be an important component of seeing these dreams become reality. I begin by asking you to pray for us that we may have wisdom in following God’s path through this array of opportunities. I also would invite you to give a year-end gift to support the work of ICDM. Remember, December 31st is the deadline for gifts to be counted on your 2020 income tax returns. If you are older and required to take RMD’s (Required Minimum Distributions) from your IRS, you can give directly from that fund to ICDM tax-free even if you don’t itemize. Please consult your financial advisor for information on how to do this. To give a direct gift to ICDM you may give online at or mail your check to:

As I write this letter, we are planning for our Annual Leadership Conference to be held February 20-27 in Santiago, Dominican Republic. Our theme is “The Harvest is Ripe” based on Matthew 9:37-38. This year’s conference presents an interesting twist. We are inviting people from our partner countries like the US to join us in learning side-by-side with our Haitian and Dominican participants. It will be an unforgettable time that will help us all gather in a rich harvest for God’s Kingdom no matter where we live. If you are interested in attending, please contact me at
Thank you for your faithfulness and generosity.
