ICDM: NOVEMBER UPDATE 2022

Dear Friend of ICDM,

The fourth chapter of 2 Timothy admonishes us to preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season, to correct, rebuke, and encourage with great patience and careful instruction.  We also are to keep our heads in all situations, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist, and discharge all the duties of our ministry (2 Timothy 4:5 NIV).

ICDM has been standing in the gap for over 30 years training people to effectively serve where God has called them. I thank you and I praise God for your partnership which makes the International Christian Development Mission, Inc. such an impactful ministry of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Despite the political turmoil in Haiti, ICDM continues to thrive. Our greatest difficulty has been the fuel shortage that tends to stagnate all traveling activities within the land. But even this crippling situation cannot hold us back. We have trained workers from North to South and from East to West. God is using those disciples to flourish where they had been planted.

Ten Mobile Bible Schools are serving 385 students. They are in Lafendrie, Gola, La Croix Saint Joseph, Dubois, Port-de-Paix (Northwest State); in Savane Marc, Plaine Batel, Dubois, Platon Chery, Gonaives, (Artibonite State); Savanette Cabral, Mattapoete, Belladere (Central State); Belamy, Bainet (SouthEast State); Grand Vincent, Priville, Beaumont (Grand’Anse, Southwest State); Jacquet Tybull, Petion-Ville, Delmas (Port-au-Prince, West State); etc.

Two Schools of Evangelism with a total of 70 students are in session in Port-de-Paix, Haiti and Elias Piña, on the Dominican Republic Border.

The fuel shortage has impacted the reopening of the schools for the children. Those of you who visited with us know that all our kids walk to school (some of them over an hour). We are expecting to be fully functional this week in both locations. Please, pray for our staff, the kids, their parents, and the entire community.

We believe that we can bring hope to people through knowing Jesus Christ. My Grandparents found that hope. They passed it on to my parents. My parents, in turn, handed it down to me. At the age of 7, I said Yes to Jesus in the church that my grandma helped found. Last August ICDM led a Youth retreat in that same church. Scores of adolescents also said Yes to Jesus. The knowledge of the gospel has transformed my family. It can also transform the entire nation.

I do thank you for your 30 + partnership with ICDM. You have helped us keep our heads in all situations. You have endured all the hardship with us. I will be forever grateful to God and to you for your faithfulness.

My prayers are also with you and your family! May we rest in God’s peace!

PS - For over 10 years, some of our graduates and Partners have established churches and other ministries in the Dominican Republic. ICDM is actively providing services on the same scale as it does in Haiti. Please, join us on our next mission trip! Coming early next year!
