ICDM: October Update

Dear Partner in the Gospel,

Myriam and I made it to Bayonnais on September 9th.

We met this week with the Earthquake relief team. They're on task. They have been distributing hygiene kits, clothes, medications and they continue minister to Luckner and other patients. They provided funds for Luckner's surgeries. Luckner is making great progress. However, pray for his father who got into a motorcycle accident. He has been admitted to the same hospital.

By next Friday we will begin to receive goodies from Missionary Flights International (most of the Terrill' s shipment is arriving) in order to further aid earthquake victims. Thanks to all who contributed items and money. Your response has been amazing!

In the midst of all the disaster relief activity, we continue to move ahead in our regular ministries. The Government asked for schools to reopen on 9/21 for some and 10/4 for others. We will reopen on 10/4. You may recall that this year we are expanding grade offering to grade 11, so we now are involved in education over 800 students, grades K-11. To get ready for school reopening we have been meeting with staff, teachers, and parents. We will have a great year thanks to them and to you. Can I make a special request and ask those of you who do not yet sponsor a school child to do so this October? For only $35 per month, you can help change a child’s life, and through them the future of Haiti. To find out more, go to https://icdm.us/educate/sponsor/.

As part of our vision to touch all of Haiti and the Dominican Republic, we continue to equip adults with evangelism and leadership skills through our Schools of Evangelism and Portable Bible Schools. Our first SOE (School of Evangelism) opened on 9/2 and the second will open on 10/1. We also have 421 students in 10 locations in our Portable Bible Schools.

Thanks for standing with ICDM.
We value and appreciate your partnership.

Your brother in Christ,
Yvan Pierre
