ICDM: A Year of Thankfulness

Dear friends and partners of ICDM,

As Christmas draws near, I want to take a moment to thank all of you for helping to make the name of Jesus more famous throughout Haiti during the last year. With COVID looming so large throughout the world, it has been a strange year for all of us. And yet, because of your faithfulness in prayer and giving, we have been able to minister the love of Christ in life changing ways.

Because of you, we were able to recover from last spring’s interrupted school year at our school in Bayonnais. We resumed last year’s classes in August and by early October had begun the 2020-2021 school year. We are now essentially caught up and on track to continue providing great educational opportunities for over 800 students. We anticipate finishing on time next spring and watching some of alumni go on to higher education in order to make an impact on all of Haiti. Thank you. Don’t forget you can take a personal interest in one of our students by becoming a sponsor for only $35.00 per month. Find out how at https://icdm.us/sponsor

Because of you, we have been able to provide over 48,000 meals to our students, to equip them physically and mentally for the challenges of education. Each day we feed all 800 students a hot, nutritious lunch. For some of our students, this is the main or only meal of their day. Just recently we opened a few new options for donating to our School Feeding Program, including donating a day or half day in honor of someone you love. Find out more or make a donation at https://icdm.us/childrens-feeding-program

Our recently built clinic has expanded our capability of serving the medical needs of Bayonnais. This past year we have treated over 2,000 people. This is a true gift to the people of our community, who must either travel long distances for medical assistance or do without. To find out how you can continue to help us in this important work, follow this link: https://icdm.us/medical-clinic

There are many other ways in which God has blessed us during the last year, including our ability to help families start small businesses and improve their agricultural understanding. However, one of the things that excites me most is our School of Evangelism which trains pastors throughout Haiti to provide holistic ministry to their communities by preaching the Gospel, forming church fellowships, and helping meet the practical needs of their communities. In spite of a challenging year, I am proud to say we have 210 students enrolled in the school and recently graduated 100 students.

We could not do these things without God’s faithfulness and your generosity. As you think about God’s greatest gift to the world—Jesus Christ—I invite you to consider honoring him by continuing to support the people of Haiti through ICDM.
Thank you for your partnership in the Gospel,
Yvan Pierre
ICDM Director
